You have your car here, now what...
This package is perfect for those driving into Sydney who want to leave their car parked safely whilst enjoying a relaxing weekend. But it’s also great for those wanting to get out and explore in their car; here are some of our favourite drives.
Some of the best beaches can be found north of the bridge, which is a great excuse to drive over this iconic landmark. Take a drive across Sydney Harbour Bridge, through The Spit and in around 35 minutes you will arrive at Freshwater Beach. Stop there for the day with a picnic or continue north along the water and in another 45 minutes, you will arrive at Palm Beach, the perfect spot to surf, walk the beach or sit on the sand with fish and chips.
South Coast & Sea Cliff Bridge
One of the most stunning stretches of road in New South Wales is Sea Cliff Bridge just over one hour from Sydney. The bridge curves out from the cliffs and juts out over the ocean below, drive over and then park and walk along the pedestrian path for amazing views and photos. On the way back to the city, another Instagram-worthy stop is the Figure 8 Pools, plan your visit carefully to coincide with low tide which is the safest time to visit, read more here.
In less than two hours you can find yourself surrounded by nature in the picturesque Blue Mountains. The Three Sisters Lookout and walking trial are a popular stop for good reason with breathtaking views across the valley. Scenic World is a fun way to see the area with a cable car and skyway for those feeling adventurous plus a walk and an incline railway. The region also features many bushwalks for a variety of fitness levels.
Terrigal, Central Coast
An hour and a half north of Sydney you will find yourself in sunny Terrigal on the Central Coast. A perfect day could include brunch at Belly Fish café followed by a relaxing walk along the beach and if you are feeling energetic up the stairs to The Skillion, a clifftop lookout point. In the afternoon, try a tasting at Distillery Botanica and Firescreek Fruit Winery before heading back to Sydney. If you’re keen to miss the traffic and drive back a bit later, try dinner at The Cowrie.
NSW Road Trips
An easy drive from Sydney via the M31 and M23 Motorways, Canberra is just over 3 hours from the hotel. As our nation’s capital, Canberra is home to a variety of national attractions such as parliament and the Australian War Memorial plus world-class galleries and museums. Canberra is the perfect lunch stop on a larger trip south-ward or a great weekend as you continue your road trip from Sydney. Staying the night? Check out Crowne Plaza Canberra.
How about a trip to New South Wales’ premier wine region? The Hunter Valley is home to a vast amount of wineries from larger well-known estates such as De Bortoli Wines or smaller vineyards such as Usher Tinkler Wines. Enjoy tastings at cellar doors plus discover purveyors of local produce from fruit orchards to chocolate makers and smoked meats. Staying the night? Check out Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley or Kirkton Park Hunter Valley.
