Sydney is full of places to explore from iconic attractions to local finds. From the hotel, you can discover all that Sydney has to offer. To help you put together your discovery itinerary, here is our #summerbucketlist of things to do.
#1 Explore the Harbour
Explore Sydney’s iconic harbour. Take a walk through the Botanic Gardens to the Opera House and around Circular Quay all the way to the Harbour Bridge where thrill seekers can try a BridgeClimb experience. Plus, see Sydney from the water from one of the many cruise or sailing boats or, do like the locals, and catch a ferry.
#2 Have a Beach Day
Potts Point is central to many of Sydney’s beautiful beaches. Head to famous Bondi Beach, or to family favourites, Coogee Beach and Bronte Beach, along Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. Why not try a surfing lesson or go snorkelling or stand-up paddle boarding to see Sydney from a different point of view.
#3 Visit Museums and Galleries
The whole family will love the Australian Museum including the Dinosaurs exhibition with the life size recreations. Powerhouse Museum, located in the old Ultimo Power Station building, is the flagship venue of the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences (MAAS). Its unique and diverse collection spans science, technology, fashion and contemporary culture. For those more nautically inclined, the Australian National Maritime Museum invites you to enter the awesome world of underwater warfare aboard the submarine and explore the last of the big gun destroyers.
One last recommendation is the Art Gallery of NSW. See an extensive collection of Australian art, alongside European masters, Asian treasures and leading local and international contemporary art.
#4 Go Shopping
Discover local boutiques in and around Potts Points tucked away in the leafy side streets and laneways around the hotel. If you are looking for big brands, jump on the train to Westfield Bondi Junction, one of Sydney’s biggest and most stylish malls. The city is also a great shopping destination; QVB, The Galeries and Westfield Sydney are all located near Town Hall station only two stops from the hotel. From the city, take a stroll towards the harbour and visit the Rocks. In this historical precinct, you can explore the cobbled laneways, cosy cafes and oldest pubs in the country. Plus, on the weekend visit the renowned The Rocks Market to shop all things handcrafted and artisanal.
