#1 Museums & Galleries
Until 9 September at Art Gallery NSW, the annual Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Prizes exhibition is a popular attraction. The Archibald prize is one of Australia’s most recognised and prestigious art awards and is bestowed upon the best portrait painting.
Powerhouse Museum presents an exploration of men’s fashion in Reigning Men: Fashion in Menswear, 1715–2015. You can see more than 130 items from luxury fashion houses. Until October 14, discover how fashion is powerful and is not just for women.
#2 Bondi Winter Magic
28 June to 29 July
Sydney’s beaches aren’t just for summer. With mild winter days often occurring, Bondi is just as beautiful is winter as in summer. Returning again in 2018 is Bondi Winter Magic a month long celebration of the spectacular location that is Bondi. Ever been ice skating whilst staring out a white sand and turquoise ocean? Now you can! Sizzling in summer and sparkling in winter, enjoy Bondi during the cooler months with a host of activities the whole family will love.
#3 Bastille Festival
12 to 15 July, The Rocks & Circular Quay
Celebrate all things French in this four-day Bastille Festival full of delicious food and wine and entertainment. The festival will see four food villages, eight wine bars and beer gardens, 14 live concerts, DJ sets, a cabaret show and more than 40 street performances all day and night from circus to country-folk dances and music. Some unexpected treats include a Christmas in July market and Le Cinema where you can enjoy mulled wine and popcorn with a cosy blanket in your deck chair in this outdoor French cinema.
#4 Travel Back to the Ice Age
Until July 22
The Mammoths: Giants of the Ice Age at the Australian Museum has been extended to July 22. This exhibition is exclusive to Sydney and will take you back in time a staggering 42,000 years and see Lyuba, a real preserved baby mammoth.
