Summer Bucket List – TASTE Edition

If you love good food, then a trip to Sydney is just what should be on the menu for you this summer. To help you plan, here is our #summerbucketlist of dining events that are delicious and memorable.

Opera Bar



#1 Taste of the Opera House
Sunday November 19 & 3 December 2017 from 10.45am to 2.30pm

Eat your way around Sydney’s most iconic landmark. The tour departs from the Stage Door of the Opera House and starts with a cocktail making class at Opera Bar accompanied by fresh seafood and charcuterie. Lunch is served at Portside Sydney with matched wines and finishes with dessert at Peter Gilmore’s Bennelong.

#2 GPO Pop-Up Dessert Bar
25 November to 29 December

Indulge in dessert under the Christmas Tree in Martin Place. Back for the fourth year by popular demand, this is the perfect chance to absorb the festive atmosphere in the city whilst also treating yourself to some sweet delicacies.

#3 Colour Fields: Pop-up Bar
Wednesday to Sundays from 4pm until 18 February 2018

The Museum of Contemporary Art is bringing colour and cocktails to Circular Quay with this pop-up bar inspired by the Sydney International Art Series exhibition, Pipilotti Rist: Sip my Ocean. Combine a visit to this kaleidoscopic exhibition with a beverage stop at this unique pop-up location overlooking the harbour.

#4 High Tea at The Calyx
Until 25 February 2018

The Calyx at the Royal Botanic Gardens is currently a vibrant display of colour with the free floral display Pollination. Against this backdrop, enjoy a high tea on Fridays and Weekends with a traditional tiered platter of sweets and savouries with sparkling and T2 Teas.

Chinatown Markets


#5 Chinatown Markets
Friday nights from 4pm until 30 March 2018

Jump on the train two stops into the city and take a short stroll and in less than 15 minutes find yourself in Chinatown. Discover the flavours of China and enjoy the bustling atmosphere. Find Mater Au and try Dragon Boat Candy!

#6 Carriage Works Farmers Market
Every Saturday morning

Located just outside the city and an easy train trip away in Redfern, Carriage Works is a must-visit for market lovers. Each Saturday there is a Farmers Market full of local produce and artisanal goods. Plus, later in December the annual Christmas Market is always a festive delight.

#7 Ferris Wheel Dining
Sundays Until 25 March 2018

Take a trip over the bridge for this unique dining experience at Luna Park in Milsons Point. Breathe in views of the city, Sydney Harbour, the Opera House and the bridge while you indulge in a three-course meal and paired wines in your own private Ferris wheel carriage.

#8 Dining Cruises

For a truly Sydney experience, eating on water is a must. Two of our favourite summer dining cruises are the Joy Bar Evening Wine Cruise and the Sydney Harbour Aqua Latino Dinner Show Cruise.
