Sydney Mardi Gras 2015
20 February – 8 March 2015

What is Mardi Gras?
The Sydney Mardi Gras is an annual lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex (LGBTQI) pride festival and parade. Hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world attend Sydney’s Mardi Gras events each year. It’s a must to include in your itinerary if you’re visiting our beautiful city this summer.

When is it?
The Festival kicks off on the 20th of February with a host of parties, art exhibitions, over 100 events across the city and of course the 37th Annual Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade on the 7th March.

Parade and Party.
Sydney’s Mardi Gras parade is one of the largest LGBTQI celebrations in the world. If you’re attending you can expect to see dancing boys and girls, over a hundred fabulous floats with music pumping, lots of glitter, leather, spray tans and the renowned Dykes on Bikes. The Parade, with over 10,000 participants, spanning the distance of almost six km’s kicks off at 7:45pm and travels up Oxford and Flinders Street. It’s an absolute must-see if you’re in town. You can grab a spot along the street or purchase tickets for VIP viewing. And the party keeps going long after the Parade ends. Over 15,000 locals and international visitors kick on at the Mardi Gras Party at the Entertainment Quarter in Moore Park for one the largest events in the Southern Hemisphere. We recommend getting in quick before tickets sell out.
